They will give discount if you are a member of a club/group anyway. Might not be as good as 15% though.

They're only any good though, if you do a low mileage in the car, for people that mod, and have the car as their main vehicle, they can't help. In the end, I had to got the Elephant.co.uk who have been so helpful.

Worst still, once you have been to them for a quote, and they have refused to insure you as in my case, I did more than 6000 miles, it put's your insurance up when you go to other places, and they ask if you have been refused insurance...

So do be careful if you go to them for a quote.

Hi everyone.

This is just a short introduction, I'm Dan and I've worked for Adrian Flux Insurance for nearly 25 years.

If any of you on here have any general insurance queries or specific problems with Adrian Flux insurance please let me know. I have hand-picked a small but dedicated team of staff who with me will try and assist you wherever possible. I can assure you we will be completely impartial despite being on the payroll of Adrian Flux. If we have messed-up we will acknowledge that and make efforts to get it corrected. If any of you do not understand an insurer’s viewpoint we will do our best to clearly explain it.

It could be problems ranging from simple paperwork issues to major claim disputes. With our many years of experience we should be able to answer most queries immediately. If there were issues or a problem that we can’t answer directly we would ensure that a relevant manager investigates these and we would then be able to relay an answer back.

I hope this will be of some help for you.

On behalf of myself and my team, thanks very much.

Dan.

you wait until you have been paying insurance for 20+ years, you will soon realise its daylight robbery, not singling out mr flux inparticular, just generally all insurers. as i said earlier, they know they are paying out rediculous amounts on phoney claims and pass this on to all the honest customers. rant over! octagon £321 fully comp protected ncb

The only membership number that is unique to you is the one on the end of your public profile, it would be the same uinique ID that you use for your Milner discount

Ask them if you the would accept an e-mail with a screenshot of your payment to the forum for club membership if you keep that info :nenau

That number is well hidden, there is a similar number at the end of the url at the bottom of a page.
Where else do I find it?
I have spoken to Adrian Flux and emailed my details I will update you all as and when I get the discount in writing.

Not for all 4x4 drivers they doubled the best quote I have had blaming it on a claim I had this year, I had a knock in a car park no damage to my car £1500to the other car. Thing is they can blame this all they like but every other insureance company knew about this and they gave me a reasonable cost.
Come on Dan not much of a specialist insurance company for 4x4 drivers, my quote left a very bad taste and none of the other quote included club membership discount.

the first car on my policy was 298 to renew and again phoned up and they took 75 off of it.

I think it depends on who you speak to, Shouldn't be the case but I've read it can be a but hit and miss depending on who you speak to. :(

Hi Russell

Thanks for the post.

Could I ask you to PM me your details so I can check this out?

Unfortunately for obvious reasons we cannot compete on every occasion although we do have thousands of happy customers where we have been able to compete. I'll certainly check this out to see why we were so far out this time and to see if we can do anything else to reduce the cost.

Kind regards
Dan.

I've given them two tries at insuring us. Once a few years ago and a the most recent last week for the project truck. Can't get quotes anywhere near as low as yours Harlowmav. Made no difference when I spoke to the lady on the phone when I mentioned the club or Dan. Have been incontact with Dan via PM.

Ended up being easier going to DirectLine for not a lot more with a lot more cover. Didn't have the time or enthusiasm to do battle for went with DL.

Maybe next year:nenau

I had to get Dan on the case this year to get a decent renewal price as the intial offer was shocking.

I've liked my time with Adrian Flux but I'm not sure I'll bother with the fight again next year if I get more of the same come renewal :nenau

So do be careful if you go to them for a quote.

To be "Refused Insurance" is a legal term that as I understand it means you have an Insurance Provider (or Cover) and "you have made a claim but the Claim has been Refused".e.g. Because you have not declared a Conviction, Disqualification, or made a false declaration in your application etc

It does not mean that an Insurer has declined to offer you cover when applying for a quote

emjaybee
12-12-2016, 18:21
You haven't been refused insurance, as macabethie correctly says, they've just been unable to provide a quote for your vehicle as it doesn't fall in the parameters of their business. Refused insurance is when they look at all your history of insurance, and your driving record, i.e. fifteen crashes in 10 years, nine penalty points and just coming off a 2 year ban.

As for getting a good quote, the answer is constructive lying.

Tell the truth about your vehicle, your insurance history and your driving record.

ALWAYS do two or three comparison websites, once your details are in its a lot quicker in subsequent years, find the cheapest quote, don't worry about the exact cover details at the moment. Go to your current company and tell them you've found a quote that is £25 cheaper than the cheapest one you saw and ask them if they can match it. If they ask if the cover is the same as theirs say yes. If they match it then you are golden. If not, find the cheapest quote from your search which gives the cover you require and PHONE them. Tell them you'd like to go with them but, "could you do any better on the price? " They may reduce it further, or not. 50% of the time I've had a further reduction.

Does it work?

I have a 3year old MB Sprinter, full comp, protected NCB, wife and I, 6k miles per year, £138.00.

The truck, same boundaries, £145.00 per year.

I've managed to get my insurance lower EVERY year since 2000. Sometimes only by a quid or two, but always lower.
