Looking at replacing the tyres on our WK Jeep they are 245/65 R17 the existing ones are Cooper A/T they are very noisy especially on some concrete surfaces. Also the sidewalls seem very soft and are showing white on both nearside tyres from previous owners scuffing - not cord but looks odd. The tyres have raised white lettering.

At the moment I like the Vredstein Quadrac 5 and the General Grabber GT I want all season road use tyres not chunky block treads like the existing tyres.

Anyone here got any suggestions or experience of the above makes ?

Most important is low road noise & wet grip I have looked online and am getting more confused!

I felt sure someone here had Grabbers ?
 

No response I guess the high proportion of off road drivers here want chunky like the existing Cooper Tyres I have!

I think the Vredsteins are the ones for me although Nokian Hakka Blue 2 have better wet grip price is too much.

On my 15 inch road wheels I have Nexen all terrain tyres. I bought them off a mate who scrapped his truck just after buying them. They're 275 75 15 so wider than standard, fit ok and have been fantastic. They're cheap too, in comparison.

All depends what you want from a tyre.
So much choice these days and yes I'm an avid off roader so don't tend to look at anything other than chunky tyres.

They the one's you've got on the Wellers you had off me?

No mate. I have them BFG Mud Terrains on your wellas. Earplugs needed :lol
Apparently noisier the more worn they are.... If that makes sense:thumb2

Fitted Cooper Discovery 3 A/T tyres on my Terrano a few years back and wouldn't put anything else on her (should she outlive the tyres :( ) The tyres I had before caused me a few 'moments' in the wet coming off a roundabout (managed to catch it, no 180s).

The tyres I had before when I bought tyhe truck were some very budget road tyres.

Anyhoo, the world would be boring if we all liked the same thing :)

Or would it.....

Mine did that a couple of weeks ago in the wet.
Taken the same corner many times in various conditions so I think there may be some diesel/oil on the road.

Well decided on the above and had them fitted on Friday early days as not run in yet but the first obvious improvement is reduction in road noise especially on concrete sections of the A50. Wet grip is rated as 'B' so that should be good in the wet especially with the grunt on the V6 3.0 litre engine.

I know it should not matter but they are a boring tyre visually - they did however come top of a blind tyre test in Auto Express on a 4x4. I paid £456 (£114 each) for all 4 fitted & balanced with free tracking check. In many ways they feel quite similar to the Goodyear Wranglers fitted on our other Jeep.

just had to fit set whilst on hol so not lot of choice.

National supplied Pirelli Verdi All season, XL spec 108V so fast and good load rating.

Best value shop had in stock, much more HT than would have looked at but my
fault for not sorting when had more time, would have gone Grabber AT3.

Decided the Verdi be good for road towing. Suspect for the lanes I do will get through
or may look for some cheap aggressives.

Other wise happy with ride on these.
