Hi there from the Netherlands!
Hi guys!
Ferdi here from the Netherlands. Got myself an 2003 Terrano 3.0Di short wheelbase november last year since my Santa Fé was't capable any more after we moved to our new home and it had to serve as a tractor as well... A short story about the car. It has served most of it's live in a boatyard so it had some rust. Got the underside like new again, also both front ujoints replaced but still having some vibtrations around 65 mph. Got new brakepads in the front, new fluids, new tires and gave the car some tlc. Still to so: Fix the vibrations New front discs for the mot next month Find some better doorpanels since the old ones have seen better days :( When I have some time I'll get my laptop and post some pictures of it. In the meantime there is a lot to read on the forum :) |
Hi and welcome, OK front UJ's done, what about the rear prop? and have you jacked it up to test the front CVJ's, Rick

Easy if you've got a vice, make sure you get Toyo ones as they have been the best quality I have found and come with a grease nipple too and very high quality circlips :thumb2 https://image.ibb.co/chWDCv/IMG_20160104_190152.jpg https://image.ibb.co/jwAjKa/IMG_20160104_203343.jpg |

If the front prop shaft is still on the vehicle reach under the car and shake the prop shaft side to side. If you feel a small amount of sideays movement and a small click it will probably be the sliding joint on the prop shaft. It happened on one of my trucks, ended up replacing shaft as you cannot repair the sliding joint. |
