key fob
AGGGGH can't get the key fob reprogramme sequence to work following change of battery on my 2002 X Trail.
Locks manually and obviously starts but have put the key in and out of the ignition 6+ times over and over again and can't get the lights to flash . Only had it a few weeks and it is driving me mad ......everything else is fine ....love it . Can any of the experienced x trailers help ?? |
Is the Xtrail different programming sequence to a T2 then? key in and out sounds wrong to me, Rick

Thanks Rick I am relying on the workshop manual that I downloaded. Is there another option ?

Change of Battery
Quote:
If its the former then you would not normally need to re-teach the fob just because you changed the battery. On some vehicles if a key such as a spare is not used for a long period and the battery is flat then a re-teach might be required. If its the latter might be worth getting the key fob repaired. |
It was working when I bought it but the failed once or twice and I thought it was because the rubber/buttons and or battery were worn so I sent it to a highly recommended guy on eBay for a refurb. Now I can't seem to reprogram it. Since original post I seem to be able to get the car in reprogram mode but can go no further !!What fun

On a Terrano it is turn on and off 6 times within 10 seconds and leave it off, the lights should flash twice to confirm programming mode, then hold unlock button and press lock button 3 times, lights should flash to say accepted, if OK turn ign on and lights should flash again to complete, I only remembered that as tried it on the Mrs motor the other day but fob clearly not working so will source another, Rick

I’ve had similar problems in the past. I was lucky enough to have two sets of terrano keys so borrowed a know working which programmed fine. I suspect it might be one of your keys is faulty.

Thanks for your time and advice guys.
