round here they dumped them at tyhe flood road blocks didnt even leave them a car to get outve rain in no lover of police etc but felt that was well cheeky as if they considered them lower than them an they were to good to be stood at road blocks!

I'm lucky, I am the beat officer for a 10 villages covering 150 sq miles, do all my own crime reports, meetings and then get pulled into the town to deal with disorder in the evenings. We have run our own operations as well as deal with RTA's and get involved with all major incidents.
I also have my own marked car so can get about ok, 150 sq miles on foot would be very unproductive.

Its sad the some forces don't utilise their PCSO's well. I'm know in my villages by young and old and when there is a problem I deal, what’s great is the kids get to know you and build respect for you, so when you have to give them a telling off they know you mean it. Anti social Behaviour on my beat had reduced by 80% due to community involvement.

I love my job and have no intention to do anything else.

jace 26-07-2007 12:05

exactly you were employed to assist police not just stand around directing traffic a few barriers and lights could do that whilst those (drenched!) cso could have been doing better things.

The site has dried out nicely, however Tommrrow is another story. They say its going to tip it down.
