Started on my mates T2 yesterday MOT failure re rust on the chassis mainly rear spring hangers, the top part where the springs sit are fine (when he first told me I envisaged cutting the floor out for access) it is the bottom where it joins the chassis, so soon cut out the crap started to clean it all up today but compressor let me down, this is the OSR inner cill

OSR chassis rot removed and bit of box fitted inside to give me something to weld too later

NSR similar but not cleaned up yet, more tomorrow, Rick

Looks to be the same places that mine went.
Is the drivers side worse than the passenger side? |
I like the idea of the little bit of box fitted inside. The rear end of the chassis seems to be a real weak point on these trucks.

So much easier to do. Having the body lift also helped loads as it gives you room to work on the top of the chassis. Will out last the rest of the car now:thumb2 |
Agreed but I do not have access to your kind of kit, I have to make do from the stuff I have, Rick
|
Nice bit of difficult welding done mate.
Nice bit of repair Rick should sort the MoT out for another year.
