Hi from Devon

Hi guys,

I have a 1990 D21 crewcab with the non turbo 2.7D which I've owned a few years now. It's a little worn out and has a very noisy gearbox but I can't part with it as it's been a great little truck. Hopefully I can pick some brains and get a little advice on my truck. I also have a 1990 Y60 fire truck which hopefully will be converted to a crewcab over the winter.

Cheers Andy

Nice pick up.
I almost bought one a few months back.
Was an unfinished project.

Welcome :thumb2

That looks sweet as, love the older stuff.

Any pics of the Patrol?

Welcome aboard, I think the older nissans are far better put together vehicles. I’ve just paid out for my sills repairing on my 1999 Terrano. Me and the mrs almost fight over who drives it and the loser drivers our 3 litre :lol

Welcome always good to see some older vehicles.

Looks very good for it's age - just needs some LED lights between the headlamps !

Hi Andy warm welcome, nice truck, Rick

don simon 31-10-2018 21:23

Welcome and that's a fine looking truck!

Greygoose71 31-10-2018 22:59

Thanks for the welcome, I'm hoping someone has an answer to my gearbox issue, if a different model's box can be used but I'll post the question in the right section another time. Mr K, here's a pic of my Safari (Patrol), it's got a TB42 and has only covered 4500 miles in 28 years.

Cheers Andy

Hi -- wekcome-- we are also new here!!
We have a Terrano 1 same age as your pick-up, same engine, there are a lot of these in Portugal , they are not allowed to die as so good as a work horse------ I think every one we have seen has had a replacement buck fitted, virtually every old pick - up has one as they are bigger and VERY strong and give a completely flat floor----- much more practical for well worked trucks I M H O !!!

We adore your fire truck!!!!:thumbs:thumbs

Thanks mate, I'm down on the south coast, Teignmouth as we moved from Ashburton when I was born. Haven't taken my dogs on the moors in it yet as the clutch slips a little so I'm going to fit a new one now I've started to reduce the weight.

Thanks, I'm hoping I can find an alternative box that will work as my chances of finding a decent original box are not good.
