It's that time of year again MoT ?

Jeep WJ is booked in for MoT this Tuesday - hoping for a Pass but you can never be certain. A Pass will then trigger new tyres on all four wheels - going for Uniroyal Rainsport tyres @ £380 for a set fitted & balanced - they should last for the rest of the vehicles ownership by me.

Current tyres are all within MoT depth with some odd tread scuffing on the outer edges - I think its when the diff lock comes in and you get the three-penny bit feel on the steering when turning tight circles/full lock at low speed that has chopped the edges on sharp gravel.

Good luck with it:thumb2
Mine's due on the terrano early Feb.
Going to get it up on the ramps at the weekend and give it a going over.
I know the handbrake needs adjustment but fingers crossed that will be all.

Result - It's passed with some advisories !

Passed it's MoT with a few advisories, rear ARB bushes & both front upper ball joints have some movement - they advised to grease them as there are nipples fitted!

New set of tyres soon, ordered rear ARB D bushes - it's the third set in the last 5/6 years so no biggie.

Good news Ted but put those ball joints on your to do list, grease will only lubricate not take out play, Rick

Interesting conversation at Garage I use on this issue.

Those are my thoughts Rick though strangely enough the Garage Owner said the new MoT ramp they have had fitted last week -its the latest larger MoT ramp - is very good at being able to picking up relatively small play / movements in the suspension - he said he would leave it for now as its such a small amount of play - if it was due for replacement they would have failed it. He then checked with the actual tester and asked if there were grease nipples fitted - there are - he said just grease them for now! Ted
