except the terrano does not have such a facility, it is simply a fluid torque converter no lock up clutch, Rick

Welcome to the forum off the top of my head i'm sure the tow limit for the auto is 1800kg but would need to check the manual to say a 100% but even so you can get a lot of caravans under that weight if you were wanting one but if it's just for a trailer again you can get quite a large trailer within that weight

I will elaborate on the lockup solenoid in it's own thread. as for the towing capacity the auto has nothing to do with it.
IT's how much a vehicle can stop. not how much it can tow. and that calculation is based on a vehicles GVM....Is an auto terrano heavier then a manual....possibly. But i'll tell you one thing. the manufacturers service manual does not distinguish between the two... |

I must admit, when I used to tow with a Volvo 850 auto, I found it was always going up and down gear, when I didn't want it to and starting off, from stand still was a slow job.
I prefer manuals for towing, that's just me though |
