LF to let you know that it arrived today and what can i say talk about well packeged wow took a long while to get it all out, well done.
being as it had the quad 5 pin lead i took it apart and put in a high quality phono lead straight on to the sme so in realaty it should give me a cleaner signal to amp. i have not connected it up yet but hopfully it will be working today and the first lp will be tubular bells. thank you. |

I was saying to Suz's that considering how much all the Quad stuff costs, and how well it is rated by everyone, I am surprised that they use such dodgy old DIN and Banana plugs to connect all the stuff together. Considering Suz's dad paid the local audio shop to do everything and when it came to his audio, money was no object, so I can't even say it was him taking short cuts to save money. I have found some letters to Quad, he had written, one asking about switching between speakers and headphones, they sent back a nice reply listing a few makes of switches, and he then bought the most expensive, which is basically a plastic box, with switch, headphone socket, and a terminal block, which I could have built for less than a tenner, but he paid £65 for. Great choice for first play, I like that Album. |

i have upgraded deck by putting isolation feet on the bottom and a new belt as it was fkd.i cant get a sure needle as obsolite but have foung japanes copy to original speck but as not put a record on it yet to test have not ordered oneyet.
i have found my metal record deck wall mount i made 30 years ago and a matching tall hifi seperats holder on decent shopping trolly carsters to hold my items heavy amps on bottom lighter up on seperate arms,so will fix it onto the brick wall like i had befor. i made this for sound improvements and it was up higher so bloody kids could not get to it,a job for tommorow |
