Nearly MOT Time
So big blue is booked in for Tuesday but I’ll be dropping it off Monday teatime on way home from work.
So far today I’ve fitted both Anti Roll Bar Links and the two rubber D bushes. Both Front Shockers, a pair of Monroe Adventures. Think the old ones were original as they were genuine Nissan. Both disks and pads too. Just taken it out for a test drive stops really well so should be better when bedded in and nice and straight too. The ride has been transformed, obviously the old ones were tired as it was very bouncy amd wollowed. Now I’m back I checked front wheels and driverside needs wheel bearing adjusting as there’s a little play. The disadvantage of those nice 17” alloys is the solid centre so can’t adjust bearing with wheel on. Tomorrow will also need to adjust handbrake as the nut has worked slack again below the lever. So I’m tired now having done all that, feels like a good days work. |

Well it’s only gone and passed MOT today with no advisories
According to the garage the sump is porous? It’s perfectly clean with no sign of corrosion. Ideas on a postcard as to why the bloody thing makes like a land rover, those who went to the Rustic road trip may remember all the oil around the sump plug. |

Jim, I'd just replace the plug and copper washer again to be safe

Just interested but why the plug?
I’ve got a spare washer and I’m going to try lazy ferrets trick of a little ptfe tape too. |

Just undo the plug but don't remove it, then wrap "gas" ptfe tape about 5 turns twisting as you go, and do the plug back up, but I doubt it is the plug leaking as this can be seen and pin pointed very easily, Rick

It’s due for an oil change so as soon as I get chance I’ll drop the oil and then seal this plug up and fingers crossed.
