I quite like it, for a budget its good, no higher than your average white van and probably a bit narrower. Not 100% on the colour but looks to have done a good job applying it
As for weakening the roof, unless he has cut the whole top off it'll be fine, I think what he's done is just cut the middle out which is only one ply of thin metal not meant to be structural! |

I was thinking a bit more military looking... A bit darker than this one.
I also would consider Olive Drab... Or maybe a Battle Ship Grey? |
