Default D22 Slightly Broken

I really cannot believe the damage to this engine and it’s still running.

Yes rare but not impossible, it will only run of course till it runs out of oil, I have pics of Swifty running a Honda Civic IIRC with a massive hole in his gearbox after the first race and he ran three more races in that condition, bangers that is, Rick

Back in the day I used to race minis . I had a con rod leave the block and come in the cab via the bulkhead. It just missed my shoulder . That engine was still running but some bits got in the gear box. Then it stopped in a hurry 😜

As a Mini Racer do you remember John Rhodes ?
I saw him a few times at Brands Hatch & Oulton Park I think it was. When at the front he would enter into bends so sideways he was almost facing backwards before he powered out. Him & Gerry Marshall in the Big Bertha V8 Viva were awesome back in the 1960's.

I raced bikes years ago & had part of the piston skirt break away fell down into the bottom end so the crank shoved it through the gearbox. No spectacular bangs or anything the bike was absolutely flying then it died.
