Default It’s The Weekend

Well it’s the weekend and beautiful weather. What’s everyone getting up to, discovering rust on their truck? Whatever you are up to I hope you’re enjoying the weekend.

Been to supermarket and fell asleep, been for a short walk this afternoon and about to have a sleep

Tomorrow I’m visiting ex RAF Church Fenton for a “Fenton Feeder All Day Breakfast” event, they’re opening the place to visitors so a good chance to visit the old place and see how it’s changed. Been many years since I last flew from there. The hanger that the aircraft we flew in is now a film studio, the ITV series Victoria is filmed there.

Thumbs up The Garden !

Cut some Leylandaii hedge and put clippings in an old half ton sack, trimmed off some dead branches.

Started taking up some pavers round our top pond so I can do the edging again due to 10 years of frost damage. This time I am going to put some small foundations in place to keep it all firm.

It will take me about a fortnight a bit at a time if the weather holds. B&A pictures to follow.

Not my best work.
Ran out of steel wire so switched to gas less to finish it off.

Exclamation This was before I replaced the wooden posts

IMG_0644 by Ted Bagshaw, on Flickr

The tall pointy leaf plant (foreground) came out the River Trent it's an invasive species called the Duck Potato! I like it as it removes Nitrates from the water without taking up too much space. It multiplies by bulb division at the base as well as by seeds from the white flowers.

In the background is George when he was moulting (he died a few years back aged 16) and Percy the Chihuahua he is very much still alive he is about 11 years old now.

Conservatory was replaced some 4 years ago due to general deterioration - it was over 20 years old - replaced with warm roof version but kept the base as it was still good.

That pond looks nice Ted.

Well a flying visit to former RAF Church Fenton this morning, found this part of an aircraft which has left me puzzled trying to find out what it was.
