We have partner and spouse cover as the wife gets a good discount via the Unite union . Not sure exactly what it costs as she pays Had to use them twice in the last week and can't fault the service I would have forgiven the AA the dodgy recovery , but not the way the organisation treated me afterwards !! GREEN FLAG - called on them a number of times and usually had vehicle towed home or to destination, and then collected again in the morning for delivery to a garage....more flexible IMHO.

RAC
Been rescued , recovered, taken home, taken on holiday, collected the kids and sorted a nightmare of rescueing me transit with 2 x 20 ft cats on the trailer I'm covered in any car/van I'm in and they do try and fix at the roadside too I borrowed my sisters VW camper recently and the gear lever assy fell off(came off in me hand gov). Called the RAC who were there in 40 mins. The bloke took me to the german swedish parts place . I got the offending bit and he took me back and fixed it 10/10 Shop around for deals though, sometimes you can get a deal via your insurance others on cash back sites. Dont forget the others too but I think the service is more patchy geographically. RAC rescued me and 15 friends in France a couple of years ago and were absolutly bloody brilliant RAC |

RAC everytime here, used to be covered with them for our work vans aswell and they were excellent. Now work are done by AA and are useless, cars with RAC.
Each have their own opinion and have own experience with both Just luck of the draw when u break down |

RAC and AA
A funny thing happened to us last week, got to TowSure in Sheffield last week and on leaving the old bus would,nt start and management light stayed lit, any how phoned for RAC. Just before all this happened a man parked behind me asked what road we were on, so I told him and off he went back to his car. About 15 minutes later the AA pulled in to see to the blokes behind who,s car also would,nt start, I told him I was having trouble and was waiting for the RAC, with that he took the piss about would be still waiting tomorrow etc., etc.. anyhow about ten minutes later the RAC arrived and was quite quick in diagnosing the fault, the key had gone out of sink with the immobiliser so truck stayed immobilised, he then tried a couple of things to get everything working together again to no real avail, by this time the AA had fixed his man and came over to see how the RAC were doing. The RAC man explained what he thought was wrong but had failed to correct the problem, the AA man got out his lap top to see if they had any ideas from previous encounters there was only one listed, depress the alarm button on the left side of the steering whilst switching on the ignition, that should reset everything and bingo it did and we were on the road again, they exchanged some more info on various Nissan problems then we all said our fairwells and left me feeling very happy with both the RAC and AA and all of us a little wiser.
