Premium Fuels
I know this will be controversial but what’s everyone’s views on the premium grades of fuel and supermarket fuels.
Reason I ask is that we have just been away to Devon for a week, we decided that the little Skoda with it’s 1.2tsi engine would probably be better to go down in. When I set off I filled from about a quarter full with Shell Vpower Petrol, we ran around all week whilst down there before filling up again from around quarter full with Vpower petrol. No this is the longest trip in this car since we bought it but even long runs of around 100 miles or so we would expect to get early forties mpg with record of around 45 mpg. So just checked mpg for both yesterday’s fill up and today’s. Journey down and running around all week worked out at 47mpg Journey back we got 57mpg. Tonight I’ve filled with Morrisons standard petrol. |

It would take more than one little trip to establish if it is worth the extra penny's you would need to go at least a month on one fuel then another on the other and even then it would not be conclusive, to my mind 3 months would be reasonable, that is why I simply cannot be bothered, more work than likely to produce any real benefit, Rick
