Thumbs up The price of restrain in a 2.7 CRD Wk!

Got back from our run to Chester & back a total journey of 143 miles. Did a steady 70 mph on the A 50 to Stoke on Trent then stuck with the 60,50,40 & 30 mph seed limits on the journey to Chester.

Same on the return except kept the speed down to 65 mph on the last stretch of the A50 from Stoke -on-Trent to Derby.

Result was 36.7 mpg on the whole trip !

That's pretty sweet!

We've just got home after a weekend away with the caravan. We did a 310 mile round trip and returned 14.8 MPG! (I think on average I get around 19 MPG when I'm not towing)

Does your Jeep tell you the average on the dash, or did you work it out by topping the tank?

I have noticed with mine that when the tank is full, it shows less mpg than when it is empty.

19mpg is low for even a modded 3.0 dude! That's around what I average with the modded 4.2 auto

I used to reckon on low 20s at least with my 3.0, although that was a manual.

Thumbs up I use the tank full to tankful method as a rule.

I did it both ways - tank fill to tank fill & onboard computer difference was 0.2 mpg lower on the dash display..
