Default Snow watch!

I hear that snow is falling and settling not too far from here in the hills just outside Wrexham.
Hope it stays for the weekend.

I knew this was going to happen and I fear that I won't be as lucky as I was last time it started falling, when I'd literally just spannered the last bolt on an hour before the clouds let go

Wink Only rain in Derby so far.

Nothing here would like to see some though. Not driven on any snow for about 4 years about 7 years since it was heavy.

Back in the 1960's it was snow every winter often for weeks. When I was a boy in the late 1950s I could guarantee sledging for at least 3 weeks every year on the Golf course that backed onto our parents house. Plus skating on the Canal.

I even rode my Motor Cycle on Markeaton Park Lake in Derby in 1965/6 era. Great fun looping around the Islands in the middle. Getting a car on the lakes was very difficult as you needed to build a ramp at the edges due to the difference in height between the bank side and the water. That said the odd car was driven onto the lake - I recall an old Rover 90 was stuck on the lake overnight.

Angry As at 6.00pm 22nd Jan 2019.

I think I saw two flakes in amongst the rain here in Derby half an hour ago.

I was probably hallucinating it was just the one flake.....

Sleet turned to snow in the Heathrow area this evening and we had some massive flakes that started to settle. Tow rope is in the truck in preparation!

Exactly where my brother is Simon.
He's had to leave his car at the bottom of the hill this evening.
He's working from home tomorrow.

Small old world! Some folks from our office took over 5 hours to get home, makes my grumbling at 25 mins for 200m seem a bit pathetic.
