well you will have to take that up with whoever you think should be moderating that thread... after all its thair job

maybe you can take your complaint to the person who has been left in charge... after all its them who will be answerable, as bat's away. its there place to make a decision

personally i aint interested. oh yes ive been having those "i need a break from this shit" too

lets face it you ask them to stop saying the r*g he*d bit and alike and they still do it.

and then you get bitten by the one you was trying to help, all because they have got there backs up and gone on some sort of p.c crusade.

we are still allowed to say crusade nowadays aren't we?

as far as im concerned its all a load of shit

no

a load of bloody shit

I try to refrain from swearing in threads as its not my style, but i dont mind doing it in person its down to taste?

Did you read my last post before you read this? if not read it now, and see if you see what i'm trying to say then maybe we can put this to bed?

another interesting thought from the same great thinker:

"He who wrestles with us strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist is our helper"

The simple answer is (i) delete an offending post or thread, especially if theres a complaint, and (ii) PM the poster to politely point out why the removal took place. Its exactly how most other sites that allow posting operate.

It takes a while but the message gets through eventually.

Its when people see no moderating going on that they naturally think its OK to post whatever they like......and you can't tick people off for breaking rules when they don't know what they are.

the mods can only act according to how they have been instructed by bat...
none of this has come up this bad for a long time if at all...

no one can do anything unless bat gets better to address the issues raised
i see your point and i recon more words could be made auto delete like some swear words. i dont expect bat expected this to come up to be fair

but the point is they can only do what they are asked to do.
as planks says he was getting upset by it all. i was too and everyone was then winding each other up...

it could have been stopped easilly if they had taken my request to pack it in

its always the same it spirals out of control fast, and what someone types might look like something else as you cant show emotions or express what you are saying in type... im always in trouble with txts to the wife etc. when they miss interpret what you are saying

its done now. i dont hold any grudges im sure plank dont either. but yes those words should be banned or auto edit

but in a pub area you cant choose what people want to talk about, you can only explain to them that the r h words are unacceptable
as is the c word or n or p .

but then im not as pc as most. pc and all this other stuff about discrimination gets right up my nose

yes there is a place for it and some very valid reasons too, but some of it is getting silly now. thats the trouble thats why people are questioning it bacause it goes too far

example
paki is concidered racist, but scot , ozzy or yank is not

to me its an abreviation much the same as me being called col

or makeitfit being called pete

also

fully veiled ladies from wherever offend me , its a fact in other parts of the world these full veils and gowns are weapons of terror. suicide bombers use them to get close to thair victims. then they wonder why im uncomfortable around them.

im sure if i wore a crucifix in thair homeland id be shot or shoved in a cell for ever
why are we so acomodating/ tollerant

Because it makes us what we are....better than the rest.

Re your earlier points Col, I'd favour deletion + PM....warning doesn't have much use if the words remain posted. But as you rightly say, needs Bats guidance, but I'm sure a bit of initiative wouldn't go amiss here....if I were in his position I think I'd welcome it!

The answer to that is simple Col - thats half the reason they want to come here. I said half before anyone starts.

What makes a lot of people come here is because we are seen as fair, reasonable and tolerant and they therefore have a chance to have a start in life or do things they could never do in their own country. I honestly don't believe for a minute that some of these people go through what they go through just for the sake of a few quid jobseekers allowance and a shitty bedsit, and if they do, well what does that say about their situation at home?.

And would you rather live in a relatively tolerant country where nobody starves and you can sleep in your bed at night, or somewhere that has little regard for human life or your welfare?

I mean you moved to a foreign country didn't you to escape oppression in your homeland!!!!

so they dont just turn up and get free social housing then ?

i guess when they turn up they dont get money to live on either.

so if thats the case why are the streets not lined with people who have arrived and not been given a thing...
we are not talking hundreds.... it is hundreds of thousands.... so where are we putting them.

you would think if they are getting nothing they would be starving in the gutter somewhere
but thats not the case as we all know... so what are they getting?
you can bet your life its more than 50 quid a week job seekers allowance.

and as often as not they tend to bring the same problems with them as they are trying to escape. i know its made worse by the press andmedia but they often want to escape oppression only to become outspoken here and stir up racial problems here.

not being a specialist in this subject i can only say how i see it. but things like
the bloke who said to jack straw i beleive. along the lines of how dare you come into our community and tell us what to do

also
why is it crimewatch has a selection of bad crimes from around the uk. yet most of the criminals are not british or dont have british names anyway

id hate to think its the bbc thats being racist by just selecting non british crimes

why is it non british people are allowed to question every part of our society complain when it does not work out very well for them and then the rules are changed to suit/ accomodate them
yet when i or someone else questions whats happening everyone thinks your racist or some nazi or something

Tezzer.....THANK YOU. It takes a man to apologise like that and its appreciated by me certainly, and others too I'm sure.

And don't think we don't understand your frustrations mate - we do. We just have to be careful how we discuss it thats all I'd suggest, because as you'll know Tez, there are plenty of homebred scuzzbuckets that get to jump the queues (and whack the benefits system) as my crippled sister will confirm.

Thanks again.
