Default Import or not??

How do you find out if your vehicle was imported or not?

The garage I bought it from didnt tell me, various people have told me that it is or it is not, finally someone sounded like they knew what they were talking about and told me it was as it had a 17 digit VIN but I had a look at my mates registration document for his Mazda pickup (definate UK vehicle) and it has a 17 digit VIN.

???

Yes check th date of first registration against how old it really is also a Nissan dealer should be able to tell you from the VIN.

HB is right, I used to import a few vehicles from Ireland, and they used to be first registered on the date of import, with a note saying something along the lines of 'not new at first registration, or used prior to registration., if i remember correctly!

Date of first registration and first Uk registration are the same,

So a UK vehicle then?

I have the Registration Document and Owners manual, Should I have a log book aswell?

seems to me from all evidence it is a UK car, I know with some vehicles there are other ways of being able to tell, like speedo in kilometers per hour or different language on data plates (where weights are recorder) or vin tags, but i havent looked at any imported nissans.

I'm not sure about yours Jace but most imports i've seen have a rear fog light fitted under the rear bumper or on our estate swinging under the bumper because of the speed bumps : : :

I think the fog light depends on which country it was imported from and I think NZ probably has as much fog as the UK so maybe a standard fit over there?
