wireless cctv
Can any one recommend a wireless cctv set up for an out building about 150 metres from main dwelling.
Looking for something that will alert me in the event of intruders & like to get a good look at them before I go investigate in case they are bigger than me. |

Why not consider using external grade Cat5/6 and hard-wiring something?
TP Link do some great outdoor Cat5 cameras, I have a dome one that I am going to fit into my new shed soon so I can go in the house and not worry about my BioDiesel and watch it from my laptop

Ive used Foscam camera's for watching inside and outside at home for a good few years. the one in my shed emails me 5 pictures if anything moves in the shed.
it is wireless capable but I tend to find the image a bit stop start on wireless. they can be accessed via the web or on a mobile phone app and once setup they are pretty good. the IR night vision capability is pretty good too. As mentioned previously if the building has electric from a supply in the house I would install the TP link powerline units and use the electric socket ring to give connectivity to your garage and use a wired connection, these are very cost effective and reliable and pretty much set themselves up. you could also put another wireless access point in the building and have internet out in the shed !!! if you want any further info or help don't hesitate to PM me. (i could send you a link to have a look at mine online if you wished? just PM me.) |
