Thumbs up Trucker Dave Hi Everyone

Hi everyone l have just joined the club .l have recently bought a Nissan sve and want to upgrade the rear lights .i have found some DEPO lenses in OZ Perth. Is there anywhere closer to home. The cost from oz is about £138 including post. Will I need to have led bulbs to protect the fuses.l have looked at the wiring and it is seems ready for changeover.:

Hi Dave and welcome, do not know about supply of lights, but wiring should not be a problem, where in the south east are you? Rick

Thumbs up Wow that's low mileage !

That's one tidy truck you have there, I could do with one like that but it would have to be an automatic for us.

She should give you some years of happy motoring.

If you have a thorough MoT testing station be careful about Lens Markings / B.S.numbers if you are replacing the lenses-
At present most back conversions from Tungsten to LED are technically illegal so if the new rear lights look super bright it could be a fail. Another issue with aftermarket LED's is flashing & failing if not an OEM part.

In my Mini Days I had a boot lid mounted Amber Fog Lamp as a reversing light - connected via a relay activated when reverse engaged via existing lamp wiring. Just power to lamp was on separate feed. Simple dash switch to break the earth to the solenoid so for MoT it was classed as an off item only - label on dash said off road lamp.

Modern reversing lamps seem to be aimed at telling other motorists you have reverse selected - not designed to actually help you see any better when reversing.

The law has not caught up with retro fit LED's as the original 24 W per lamp limit does not state lumens output. Current regulations for LED's are based on newer dates of first registration.

My rear fog lamp was 100 Watts so it was never gong to be missed by the tester.

There are some people on here with trolls that have done the light mods, they'll be able to sort you out, fitting Australian or US spec lights rings a bell

Thats a nice looking truck mate, I like the colour

I should also add, at this point in time I have only regular bulbs and have yet to do an LED conversion.
