MOT history seems to work for that Reg, corrosion has been picked up as early as 2011 and seems a few MOT's later somone has tried to hide the fact with underseal or some such to obscure it

Yes, noticed that - no doubt it's been through one or two 'unofficial trade salesman' around here. The area is rife with wannabee car dealers, and I normally manage to avoid them like the plague.

It leaves me a little confused over what model I've actually got though - an S or an SE, and I see some sites referring to some as a Station Wagon and some not? How do I tell the difference?

From your photos yours is defo not an SE.

Dealers often refer to station wagon and estate meaning the same body style. I believe V5 describe Terranos as estates. Take a look around on ebay and autotrader for similar models to yours to give you some idea of model. Please don't take this the wrong way but yours looks to be a basic model, reason I say this is that it doesn't have the deep plastic mouldings down the doors. I've been thinking about it since earlier, I wonder if it is what was called a grey import. A grey import is a vehicle that may have been ordered in europe as a rhd vehicle but actually bought in say France or even republic of ireland. You could go to a dealer and see if they could look it up on their system against reg number and chassis number.

Have you done a hpi type check before you bought it? If not do it for peace of mind. I personally don't think you have much to worry about. Is there a service book or anything with the car?

I'm sure you'll be fine, get the patches welded and enjoy driving a great motor. By the way there are no official replacement sills available, tdoug found a friendly fabricator near him who folded some sheet steel to fit his sills and replaced them that way.

That would make sense -it is VERY basic (it's replaced a top of the line Grand Espace that's gone to it's grave).

Used cooking oil might want to be filtered a bit, but off the shelf cooking oil goes straight in.

It's all about the correct mods for the ratio that you want to run. These engines and pumps would do a 50/50 mix until the chassis dropped in half with no modification needed other than regular fuel filter changes.

I've gone the whole hog though sir in an attempt to prove that you can run 100% Vegetable Oil all year around with no additives, no diesel, nothing!!!!!

To get to this state though I've done a fair few mods and still some to go including;

Heated Eckes Fuel Filter Mod
Heat Exchanger
Removed Banjo Filter in IP
Decent Glow Plugs
Decent Battery and probably a few more things that I can't remember right now

It has come at a cost though, running such high ratios neat has meant that the rubber seals on my Bosch pump have perished and my pump is now leaking and I get the EML light every journey with the same DTC 21 every time!!! I'll be doing a pump rebuild soon on a spare I have on the workbench that I'll be fitting vegetable oil proof Viton seals to

Think I'll let it settle a while before giving it a try. The niggles are starting to mount in just the few miles I've done so far.
When cold I can't get her into gear, I have to turn it off , put her in 1st and restart with clutch down. Gears are difficult, particularly with low revs, but get better as she warms up. Any ideas? I'm guessing it's the clutch, but it's puzzling me that it's not the same when the engine is warm (I should have spotted that it had a warm engine when i went to see it really - shiny new car syndrome methinks).
