Default General Question about Mistral vs Terrano

Apart from being imported, are these cars identical in every way?

ie. If I buy a Terrano part - is it guarenteed to fit the Mistral version?

Thanks in advance,

as far as i am aware they are basically identical but not all parts are interchangable ie back door is differnt. some of the bodywork is also differnt.

i also beleive that the indicator stalk and wipers are the oppisite way round mistrals indictor stalk is right hand side.

all mistrals again as far i i am aware are atomatic gearbox also has mant extras as standard mirrors electricallyclose togheter for parking etc.

but on a positive note there are many parts which are interchanable on terrano maverick and mistral

hope this help

was it something in particular you were thinking about??

tail light no problen if its the one with the fog light on you will have to wire that up independently but the wiring should be there for the fog light which is fitted.

all i did was ues the that wire and connected to the lamp hoder direct

window button if looks the same then shouldnt be a problem

front bumber might be differnt not sure on that

Default Head Lamp

Oh yes - I forgot - one other question ...

I need a new main beam bulb for my headlamp.

Can I just ask for the standard Terrano bulb - I think its an H4 something or other?

How much should you pay for the Xenon type?

Thanks,
Rob.

Default Battle of the bulb

I managed to replace the left hand bulb (the one that had blown) after a drawn out battle with the old bulb. The contacts were stuck fast into the jaws of the plug. It only came out after a tug of war and WD40. Even then two of the bulbs contacts were left jammed into the plug and only came free with help from a screwdriver and a pair of plyers.

Anyway - the new bulb went in no probs and eventually remembered how the wire clip holder went back in place.

Well - the left side is definetely brighter than the right - probably wouldn't make any benefit to me though until I hit the country roads sometime. Although I confess I hate those unlit motorways so perhaps there will be some benefit there too.

I'll get the other nightbreaker bulb in at the weekend but it looks as if the battery will have to come out first.

p.s. anybody know why you shouldn't touch the bulb glass with your hands?

touching it would deposit greases and salts from your skin onto its surface. The aluminosilicate glass used in the lamp's envelope would be weakened when these salts are baked into the glass during the lamp's operation and the greases would scorch and darken the bulb's surface. 8O 8O

From what I can remember it's because of the acid from your skin which leaves the finger print when heated by the bulb melts the glass :?
