wanted...... long shot
Today I went to change the fuel filter only to find that the plastic drain plug at the bottom has been damaged. So does anyone have a spare I could buy.

did you not get a new one with the new filter? if not I have one but cannot say for sure if it will fit as I have seen different types, depends on the make of the filter, Rick

I think you may be talking at cross purposes here Rick, on all the fuel filters I have bought, you just get the built in rubber gasket/seal on the top, and a smaller ring/seal in a bag either stuck to the side of the filter, or loose in the box, to change when you put the original white housing, that contains the float/water sensor, and drain tap, back onto the bottom of the filter.
I think it is that bit he is after... |

See your point Clive, got 3 x TDi's here two have got water sensors the other has not, have no changed filters on the ones that have so far only the one that has not and of course it comes with its drain plug the others of course do not as it is part of the car, there are other variations as well, some have EGR others do not and the mounting position of the ECU can be passenger foot well or behind heater controls , Rick
