a tenner spent on here is well spent, one small tip can save a lot on silly little repairs that you may have taken your vehicle to a garage to be done, and instead you get done! and you don't get much at a garage for ten quid, except maybe a sharp intake of breath!!

may be so but if they go they take knowledge with them that may save them money in the future, even if it's just how to change a bulb or bleed a clutch.

Just been looking at the membership, and there certainly are more Red members, ie joined but not paid their £10 than ever before.

Only a few have ever posted.
Maybe they just wanted to look at the club to see what it's about, they have not yet had the benefit of being a full member, perhaps we ought to stop them getting access to the important areas, like Briggies jokes.

Like in every sales role, if you have a lead you tend to follow it up, has anyone contacted these people to encourage them to consider joining the club if they still have a suitable vehicle?
Do we know what they think of the club?
Has there ever been a survey?

Don't offer them cheap membership, or we'll all want it.

Are we happy with the current number of fully paid up members?

I don't mind replying to these people, after all we are all enthusiastic about our 4x4's, and if we can help someone along the way..

I notice that a lot of our full members do promote the club, and offer the benefits of full membership which is great, but it is clear that some members are not aware of the Status of some of the "Junior" members.

Lets turn these leads into sales.....

just a thought.

It's more a case of no interest from our leader & lack of activities & not just off road.!
Yes there is / was knowledge on here but it is no longer a 4x4 forum
All we get on here 90% of the time now is joke's & pointless thread's about what song move's you

So unless there is interest from our leader & it get's back to being a 4x4 forum then the member's will keep on going as I won't be renewing & I know a few more that won't be

Well, I think it's gone a bit quiet at the moment because it's summer holiday season! As for the technical stuff, I think just about everything is covered in the downloads sections

there are still lots of technical threads just look at the 'todays posts' link.

As for 4x4 stuff what do you want?

"i drove in some mud that was this deep!"

"no mine was deeper"

or maybe -

"My tyres have more tread than yours"

"my lift kit is higher"

I think the site does well and caters for the wider tastes of it's members not just all about the cars! And I enjoyed the 'what song moves you' thread and going by the number of posts so did a lot of people.

I remember when we had some very unsavoury threads that led to all kinds of problems and the I recall a few members who are currently dissatisfied with the 4x4 content thinking they were OK

There are some valid points you raise though, perhaps a life time membership, or a free sticker would be a good idea
