Default Panelbeaters box problem

Got Panelbeater here snug in his tin tent, just had a quick look and as I thought the lever is shagged, a small pin has broken off allowing the lever to twist out of alignment, also the lever will not push down as it should to allow low box, but being a 3 it has been cheepend with plastic linkage and rubber joints as opposed to steel and boot enclosed ball joint, so after I finish work tomorrow we will have a look and see if the spares we have can be made to fit, Rick

20% stronger springs all round
aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap.
Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.

I'm interested to see pics of this Rick as if I have the cheapo bits I'll be certain to try this upgrade too

Sorted the box just transferred the complete lever assembly from my spare, did take pics but left camera in workshop and not going back out now, also fitted new CVJ to the NS, but brakes are now a problem OS has a slider pin that is not, and the disk inner face looks bad, OSR cylinder is wet, not sure about state of the shoes as packed up after that knowing that I was not going to get very far tonight, Rick

After much searching both myself and rick and my brother rick came up trump as he found a seal kit in stock paid for it and hope there email says its on its way.
New master for it is 564.14 3 week delivery, abs one double price.a now we have hope.brother has found a second hand one complete with servo and the pick of the cylinder looks identical so will get that as a last resort.l found a company that will make the seals but they need the unit to get all dimensions range from 30 to 50 good if not in a hurry as mine is stuck on rivks ramp.so hopefully sorted.

Thanks Zac, I have several from up to 98 but they do not fit the servo (plastic bit is too big and they are not interchangeable) also it seems the ABS type is a bit special and as it is AUTO it has a larger bore 25.4mm as opposed to about 17mm for my early ones all manual by the way, have just discovered that the seal kit is from Berlin, that said post was over £8 and my Lokka from Aus only took 4 days, so here is fingers Xed, Rick

Well poor old panelbeater is still here and it has done nothing but rain, still waiting for the seal kit, tracking says it is still in Dortmund so I am not a happy bunny, done all the rear brakes including pipes, got the OSR flexy pipe today but will not fit that till Monday as going to Piccadilly Wood tomorrow for a day off, will start a new thread for that if it proves worth it, here is a pic of the two control levers for Zac you can see the pin that broke, it should slide in the slot above it, Rick

Thanks for the comparison Rick, when I get that issue I'll be sure to upgrade to the older part

6 days after ordering them got the seals today, thank goodness they were the correct ones so now we are up and running, the brake hose did not want to let go but a bit of concentrated heat sorted it out, just got the wheels to go back on and give it a road test, but I know the 4x4 and low box work already so all is now good, but what a journey! Rick

I love a story like this, and really admire how you and Rick live. I'd love to be self efficient enough that I could just call the road my home and rock up at Rick's and camp there for however long.

There's just something I really admire about the road life, I swear I've got traveler blood in me!!

What I'd do for another Frankie Fulwood adventure or two

R.I.P Plank, gone but never forgotten
