Default What is the tow bar max weight for a T2 LWB

Hi Guys
Could some one please look up the max towing weight for a 1999 LWB T2. As I have a left hooker I don't have a handbook.

Cheers

Have a look at the chassis type plates on your trruck. One of them should give you various weights on it. Doesn't give max towing capacity but you can work it out. It gives the GVW (gross vehicle weight) which is the max allowed all up weight of the truck including load and there theres MAM (maximum allowe mass) which is max allowed including trailer, minus one from the other to give max trailer weight.

That is the only safe (legally) way to do it. If you were to be pulled by VOSA for a check that plate is what they will refer to not the manual.

Hi just followed Humingbirds recomendation.
My chassis plate contains the following:

2580 kg
5160 kg
1 1160 kg
2 1450 kg

So am I right in thinking:
1 1160 is front axle max load
2 1450 is rear axle max load
The 2580 is the maximum Gross weight of vehicle ie with passengers luggage etc
5160 kg is then max allowed mass all up weight of everything.

So if vehicle is loaded to max, then trailer can only be 5160-2580 =2580 kg
However if it is only the driver, say 100kg then Gross vehicle weight will be close on 2000kg, thus trailer could be 5160-2000 = 3160kg

However you have to take into consideration the tow bar design limits, which is probably where the 2700 kg comes from.
Each vehicle could be different so check the plate.
I hope this is right and helps other.. if not I will edit it ..
best regards, Rustic

I don't think it works like that, fairly certain it's 2580 regard less of load in the vehicle - maybe someone else knowdifferent though.

Checked my manual (for Mav) and no mention in there of the max towing weight. Just 100Kg max nose weight.
