Default MOT time for the Patrol

Jet washed it off today in the workshop on the lift, all enclosed in plastic sheet, it was like working in a fog, but they would not have accepted it with the amount of hard dried mud on it, all looks good just need to check the trailer electrics and fit a new rear number plate, general look round lights and wiper blades and that is about it it, booked in for Thursday 3.15. Rick

Super strong body cills capped with scaffold pole
20% stronger springs all round
aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap.
Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.

I am an ex MOT guy so do not need to do anymore than present it, I am only human and can miss something, if I have then I want to know about it, my life may depend on it, Rick

Good luck Rick. Mine is currently off road as the MOT expired at the end of last month and I haven’t had time to look her over. Hopefully can get under her today with an MOT next week.

Default Another year for the old girl

I knew I had a small oil leak going back to when I was playing with camshaft mods and as it travelled down the front and drip of onto the steering damper and then being blown along the bottom of the engine making everything black and sticky, I hasten to add that even on our recent trip to Cornwall I never needed to top the oil up, so after removing the cam cover found that I had neglected to apply a bit of sealant to the front cam bearing, so sorted that and jet washed the engine off.

All good I thought until I parked in town Wednesday afternoon to do a job, when I returned to the motor was dismayed too see a spot of oil on the drive, so Thursday morning up on the hoist found more oil than before but now coming from front left of the sump a couple of the bolts were not very tight so nipped them up which reduced the leak but did not cure it, guess the bond had gone tween sump and block, nothing for it but remove the sump and deferred the test till Friday and got a pass with one advisory "OSF wheel bearing slight play".

Now the interesting bit can anybody identify this little springy thing that was at home in my sump, Rick
