Default yorkshire and back

Well I've just driven to West Yorkshire and back from north Kent to pick a horse trailer up. Going up solo I was getting 29 mpg coming back with some bloody great hills and a strong wind it went down to 16mpg , scary. Has anybody else gone this low or lower . It's a 2.7tdi and an ifor williams hb505 , without a lump of horse inside.

i dont no how the t2 does it but no matter what it pulls it feels like it needs more power but will still pull heavier things if that makes any sense

the t2 is more of a shire horse than a race horse.

16 mpg is a bit low specially for a 2.7,... I bought a LWB T2 on a trailer complete with spare engine and loads of tools from Brighouse to Sussex and still did 21mpg this is with a 2.4i petrol and we grossed at 4.8 tons, and as it was late I did not hang around most of the way the speedo was reading 75 steady as a rock when loaded correctly, buy contrast I had a poorly loaded trailer recently and could not go over 45/50 as it was not stable, but great tow motors, Rick

I have quoted this before, but my dads old T2 pulled 44 ton trucks out of our yard at work and dragged them up the hill to the main road. Granted all in low box, but still did it.
No one could believe this little truck was pulling a massive truck behind it, they thought i was holding it up till they saw the rope.

Just wish i had videod it now.
