Default New rear bumper

Hi all, so today i paid the almighty Rick a visit with the hope of re indexing the front torsion bar, after some debate we decided against the front torsion indexing due to stress.

So with the leak off pipes easily tackled we started chatting about mods on here, I mentioned makeitfit's steel bumper, at which point rick mentioned he had a special set of bumpers in led of a lick of paint. Needless to say I snatched them up

The rear one has been fitted to get me home and I'm returning to get the front one done later

As usual rick, you are a legend

Yeah, needs a luck of paint and a quick tidy up.

I also need a rubber grommet for the drivers side rear, any ideas where?

Just to be on the safe side you might be better taking it to show an mot station and asking if they'll pass. Those rear wheel s look a little exposed to me.

Think he'll be ok Jim, if you check Adz's pic thread he took his rear bumper off completely. Think the only thing they're bothered about is sharp edges that folk could cut/stab themselves on (we'll ignore the question of why they'd be that close to the rear of the truck in the first place)

Looking good Alex, remember you'll need a winch in your front bumper to make it road legal

That's good then, it would be bad news to of binned your old bumpers and then fail mot. Enjoy your modding Alex.

You'll have to get the rear number plate remounted now you should be fine with the MOT & boys in blue as the tyres are covered at the top by the arches

Under EU regs a steel front bumper is frontal protection and therefore not road legal but fit a winch and it becomes a winch bumper which counts as equipment and is road legal.

I'm saying nothing!

Sooo, this has got me thinking. How flexible is this rule? Obviously my Tirfor winch connects to the bumpers but lives in the boot?

Or literally tie the Tirfor to my new front bumper to be

I've just had a "great" though

Im gonna get the exact definition of "winch" and see what I can get away with.

Example - if I could just have 1m of cable with a hook sitting on the ring id be laughing.

Don't really wanna buy a 300 quid elec winch.
