Dont get bogged down doing tourist trap stuff in buses etc, just pick your POI and drive . Northern lights you can see if they're there, no need to pay a fortune to do that, just find a dark hill, there's plenty of them lol We particularly liked the Secret Lagoon, much nicer than the blue one. Gulfoss waterfalls are massive and then ofcourse the great giesers. There's a tour up the glacier in monster 6x4 trucks and glacier caves etc We ran out of time and money this trip but will defo do that next time I'll look up the hire car deal if you want as they picked us up from the airport and delivered back in the deal |

Booked the Flights yesterday and the accommodation the night before. It's not a surprise birthday trip for my wife because I had to let her find the accommodation ( you know what they're like) but she's made up all the boys are coming. Thanks for your help on things. |

I think it is always good to try another vehicle, it will really make you appreciate you own car when you get back home. Lol
