Don’t make me laugh, I’ll split my sides no I really will
Loads better at the moment but it will be a very long road back to fitness, nothing really prepares you for the shock of major surgery on the body. Main thing is I’m here and fighting it and fingers crossed it’s gone for good. It’s so good to get you guys talking about male cancers because blokes don’t, I hope in the future someone stumbles upon this thread and reads it and makes a difference to them. In the meantime guys, if you pass a Macmillan collection tin drop a few pence in for me as they really are a wonderful supportive organisation. |

You will feel better when the effects of the Anesthetic wears off.
Assuming you had a General Anesthetic rather than a Spinal Jab it can often take several weeks for the adverse effects of those drugs to wear off. I am sure you will find your recovery rate and pain levels improve with time - its early days yet Jim.
Not only are we are supporters of Macmillan but Wendy was a volunteer at the local Hospice for several years. As a result of the training they gave her it helped her enormously in managing her fathers end of life care. They are a great organisation as are Marie Curie Nurses. |

“Hi Honey, I’m Home”
A bit obscure but I’ve been discharged this evening, was a bit overwhelming when I got home. Glad to be home to recover. To answer that Ted, I was greedy I had both. Had the epidural as well as a general. I didn’t ask they just did, the operation was a very long one. Off back to bed now the meds have worked again. |

Just read through this. Glad to hear you are post op and back home. Have to agree with your morphine comment, great stuff if a little morish.
I had the finger of fudge last year followed by the camera. Not the most pleasant experience, it's an exit not an entrance. They took a bit of a sample while they were in there. Luckily it was ok, they just want me back every 3 years or so to keep an eye on things. Keep fighting, it will all be worth it when it's in the past |

Beware of the Tea Trolly.
[QUOTE=jims-terrano;360599]You are lucky they don't put Bromide in the tea these days. Back in 1965 when I was in hospital for 3 months is traction with a fractured femur the was a rumour about the early morning tea round being "fixed"!
