Until we hit this, so put the other 5 in and it stayed solid, but the Dyneema suffered, it was already old and full of Slindon grit so later in the day it gave out

I've washed my dynema many times in the washing machine . The trick is to get the bugger out before her indoors gets home

I had thought of that but do not think I would get away with it, Slindon mud gets everywhere and is easily recognized, anyway only lifted the bonnet today and this is what I found

As you see the rad is pretty clogged, fashioned a length of copper pipe, sealed the end and drilled a 5mm hole so now have a lance with the water jet at right angle to the pipe so easy matter, after removing the fan shroud to wash it all away, also able to push it between the air con rad to jet it from the front as well and can easily see when clean water is passing through, Rick

Well, washed my old rope and cut out the bad bit and spliced it together again, although a fair bit shorter (about 24 mtrs) it still functions, and tested out OK, also have a new 36 mtr length but it is only 8mm so not really ideal, have just bought a 26 mtr bit of 10mm from a site that buys end of real off cuts for £43 delivered, but most of what they have is what I call "sheathed" rope designed I guess for the sailing brigade so kinder on the hands, but not very good on a winch drum (thanks Pete for the info on that) the other downside is a 10mm rope is now 12mm including the outer covering so will struggle to fit on the drum anyway, am now a bit gutted as the first day out at Piccadilly wood is Sunday 4th but we got an Easter party for the family on that day, when I mentioned going, if looks could kill I would be dead, ah well hopefully there will be plenty more unless the powers that be decide to lock us down again and I would not rule it out as it really is a control issue, Rick

Hey Rick, hope you mustered a smile yesterday 😀
Going back to your rad cleaning lance.
Years ago I made an old fire extinguisher into a pressure washer. Took it with me on pay n play days just to hose off the rad while the mud was still wet.
Basically inserted a schreader valve in the head. Fill two thirds full of tap water and pressurise with tyre inflator. The good thing about it was not being too aggressive on the fins.

Yes Pete had all the grand kids round for an Easter egg hunt, we had trampoline and a couple of go kart thingies, so much fun was had by all.

I like your fire extinguisher idea, might just do one of those, Rick
